About Us

The Meridian School is an independent Kindergarten through fifth grade school. The Meridian School combines a rich academic curriculum where the core subjects of language arts, mathematics, science and social studies are woven together and taught in the context of thematic studies. Dedicated teachers care about our students, encourage self-expression, and enjoy sharing multiple approaches to academic excellence. Classroom lessons are enhanced by field trips, as well as instruction in Spanish, music, physical education, library skills, and computer science.

Location

We are located in the historic Good Shepherd Center within North Seattle's Wallingford neighborhood. In addition to sharing the beautifully landscaped 11-acre Meridian Park with the larger community for work and play, The Meridian School has established relationships with other non-profit organizations within the Good Shepherd Center, including the Wallingford Senior Center, neo art school, and the Seattle Tilth Association. Service learning is integrated within our curriculum, expanding our students' awareness locally, nationally and on a global level.

Mission Statement

The Meridian School promotes a balance of mind and heart, of contemplation and action, of individuality and a commitment to the community.
