School Accreditation
The Meridian School is member of the National Association of Independent Schools (NAIS), and accredited by Pacific Northwest Association of Independent Schools (PNAIS), The Northwest Accreditation Commission (NWAC), and the Board of Education.
Our continued membership with PNAIS involves self-evaluation, observations, documentation of policies and procedures and review of goals and philosophy. The PNAIS is a Northwest oriented association concerned with the academic programs and progress of qualified independent schools. The purpose of the Association is to promote the welfare of its members, associate members and candidates and to provide a means of consultation on common concerns. It also serves as a liaison between member organizations and the National Association of Independent Schools. Meridian was reaccredited by PNAIS in 2009.
PNAIS accreditation requires adherence to the highest standards of operation and best practices, and a commitment to the mission of PNAIS and the following essential characteristics:
- Commitment to the Public Good
- Effective Governance and Operations
- Physical Location or Place
- Primary Focus of Academic Education
- Commitment to the Best Interests of Children
