Starting in kindergarten, students learn basic technology skills and terms through the use of a variety of educational software. As students progress through the grades, their skills are strengthened and expanded upon through the use of word processing, spreadsheets, and graphics programs. Projects include publishing illustrated books, gathering data and creating charts and graphs, and making flashcards in collaboration with the school’s Spanish program.

Students in the upper grades use technology to locate, organize, evaluate, and present data. The technology program supports and integrates classroom curriculum through research, activities, and special projects. Students explore computer programming through beginning HTML lessons. A variety of tools, including digital cameras and video equipment, enable students to demonstrate their knowledge through printed reports, posters, slideshows, and movies.

Student work is shared with peers and families through a variety of mediums (media?), including take-home DVDs and presentations at school assemblies. Kindergartners through fourth graders have technology class for 45 minutes once a week; fifth graders for 90 minutes weekly.
