Academic Program

Our Curriculum

StudentTeacherAt the core of Meridian’s philosophy is the relationship between teachers and students. Small classes ensure that students thrive; children feel known and safe both intellectually and emotionally.

This intimate learning environment affords rich opportunities for cooperative and interactive experiences – we believe that student participation and personal choice lead to a powerful investment in and passion for learning. The thematic curriculum promotes integration across subjects, connected thinking and real-world application. The strong sense of community at Meridian supports all learners, and encourages active listening to differing viewpoints and opinions. Learning how to solve problems and make good choices are a priority, as is respect for oneself, others and the environment.

Specialist Classes

Track & Field DaySix specialist programs in music, art, computer, library, Spanish, and physical fitness enrich the curriculum and allow students to explore the world through different disciplines. By providing a balance between rigorous academic instruction and social-emotional development, Meridian develops intelligent, competent and caring world citizens.

Global Studies

In 2006, Meridian began the development of an interdisciplinary Global Studies program with the goal that Meridian students will view themselves as capable learners and researchers of many regions, cultures, and peoples of the world.

Equity & Inclusion

The Meridian School promotes diversity of thought and identity by bringing together community and curriculum to open minds and hearts, connect awareness to actions, and celebrate the contribution of the individual to the community.
