Marika has been with Meridian since 2016. She is a certified teacher and has a Single Subject Teaching Credential in Visual Art from San Diego State University, along with a B.F.A. from the Savannah College of Art and Design. Before joining the Meridian community, Marika taught art in public schools for six years. While she has experience teaching middle and high school, her heart is in being a K–5 Art teacher. Marika believes art is just as much about the process and the journey as the end product. She loves inspiring her students to think outside the box and celebrate their creativity. When not in the classroom, Marika can often be found creating in many forms, such as crocheting, sewing, photography, and ceramics.
