Nicole began her work in education in 2006 with Jumpstart, a national nonprofit focused on developing literacy and language skills in low-income neighborhoods, and volunteering at schools in San Francisco and Pacifica, California. She’s worked with teeny tiny babies to big eight-year-olds and all the way up to high schoolers; Nicole loves learning from others at all ages and stages. She believes that building a foundation of kindness and community best supports and prepares kids and adults to ask questions and take on challenges.
Nicole received her B.A. in Child and Adolescent Development, Young Child and Family, from San Francisco State University, and has Clear Multiple Subject Teaching Credentials from California. Nicole has attended the University Child Development School Summer Math Workshop, Responsive Classroom’s Elementary Core, Advanced Institute and FlyFive Workshops, Equity Literacy Institute’s Racial Equity Facilitator and Advanced Equity Facilitators trainings and is a 200-hour certified yoga and wellness instructor. She partnered with colleagues to present at the 2022 and 2024 NWAIS Fall Educators Conferences.
Nicole has been with Meridian since 2020. She loves exploring Seattle by eating her way through the city with her husband and enjoys people-watching, traveling near and far, music, and movies.
