In January 2025, students from the Seattle Academy Robotics Program and members of the competitive robotics team, 8032 SAASquatch, gave an unforgettable presentation during Friday Morning Meeting. Among the team were multiple Meridian alumni, who were happy to be welcomed back to campus.
During their visit, the team introduced our students to robotics competitions, sharing not only the mechanics of building and programming robots but also the various roles and responsibilities that contribute to successful teamwork.
One alum reflected that his passion for robotics was first sparked during a Creativity Lab unit right here at Meridian. It was a powerful reminder of how early experiences can shape future interests.
Meridian students were thrilled to see the robot in action, built to maneuver across the floor and launch soft rings into the air!
We’re incredibly grateful to the SAAS Robotics Team for taking the time to inspire younger students who might follow in their footsteps!
