Every year, students in our upper grades (Third through Fifth) are paired with younger buddies in the lower grades (Kinder through Second) to foster mentor-mentee connections. It is a cherished tradition here at Meridian, and we loved seeing students meet their new buddies for the 2025-2026 school year at the end of September.
It has been wonderful to see students getting to know their buddies through interviews during community time and playing together at all-school recess. Buddies across the grade levels provide amazing opportunities for students to support and look up to one another!
Watching buddies get to know one another over the course of the year is truly magical. Younger buddies can often be seen holding up posters and cheering on their upper buddies during Friday Morning Meetings or during games, such as the upper elementary kickball tournament. Older buddies provide support and guidance to their younger buddies during recess and class projects.
We look forward to seeing these new buddy pairings connect throughout the school year and beyond.
