Lora grew up in a small town outside of Niagara Falls, New York, before attending Pratt Institute in Brooklyn. She graduated with a BFA in Graphic Design and Art Education and visited Seattle on a gorgeous sunny day and immediately made the move. After teaching art and working in marketing for many years, she found herself at U Prep as their first Director of Communications. This role encompassed many parts, including acting as the liaison to the parent community, overseeing the annual fundraising event, and managing the fortieth-anniversary celebration. After sixteen years, she followed her passion to be in elementary education at The Valley School, where she started their annual fund from the ground up, directed all admission activities, delivered all marketing and communication, and also acted as the liaison to the parent community. She has been there for nine years and is now excited to start her new adventure at The Meridian School. Lora and her husband Joe (an architect in Redmond, WA), have two children, Naomi (23) and Shae (19).
