Abby grew up in Los Angeles, California. While working at a preschool, she was drawn to the importance of the brain-body connection for young children, so she started a business for creative movement, Creative Expressions. She traveled up and down the California coast teaching at elementary and preschools. She also opened the first on-site kindergarten for Great Pacific Iron Works/Patagonia with Yvon Chouinard in Ventura, California. She brought her business to Hawaii, where she and her husband started their family, and she was soon recruited to teach kindergarten and first grade at a Hawaii independent school. She taught for seven years prior to moving to White Salmon, Washington, teaching kindergarten through sixth grade at a charter school in Mosier, Oregon. After years at the charter, she was brought back into the early learning field by helping open a friend’s early learning center. This began a deep dive into the role of administrator to Migrant Head Start and early learning schools, eventually throughout Seattle. In 2021, after years in the field of administration, Abby made the decision to go back to the classroom. After a year of teaching first graders at Impact Charter School in Tukwila, she has excitedly taken on a position at The Meridian School. Her daughters now live in Woodinville with their husbands and babies of their own! Abby enjoys exploring the PNW, and spending time with friends and family while enjoying the beauty of this special area!
