Drew Whittemore

Drew started at Meridian as an associate in fourth and fifth grades for two years and then moved to third grade faculty for three years. He took time off to raise his son and is now thrilled to return to Meridian as a learning specialist for the 2022–2023 school year. Drew loves learning with, supporting, and extending student learning. He enjoys forming relationships with students, families, and staff, and continually works to cultivate a balance of heart and mind. He has attended numerous professional development opportunities, including Writer’s Workshop at Columbia University, Responsive Classroom, and other courses in differentiated instruction. In addition to having a passion for education and supporting all students, Drew is a musician and has played with a band, releasing music and performing live. Other dominant interests include skiing (classic, skate, and downhill), selling vinyl records, photography, hiking, cooking, and traveling.

Meridian is an independent school in Seattle's Wallingford neighborhood serving 200 students in grades K-5. We are located in the historic Good Shepherd Center, a community building housing several nonprofit organizations, which lies adjacent to 6.5-acre Meridian Park.
