-Pursuing a B.A. in Elementary Education from the University of Washington
-With The Meridian School since 2019
Josiah joined the Meridian community as an educational intern in 2019 and transitioned to his current role as kindergarten’s associate faculty at the start of 2020. Before Meridian he worked as an after-school and summer camp educator with several organizations, most recently Kids Co. at Decatur Elementary and the Alderwood Boys & Girls Club. After taking EDUC 170 at UW (math for elementary school teachers), Josiah became passionate about teaching math to young students, loving the way things clicked not only for students but for himself as well! He is very enthusiastic about Meridian Cares and how the Meridian School teaches young people to care for others, care for themselves, and care for their place. Outside of teaching, Josiah has many different passions and interests. Once a month he participates in an Asian American Pacific Islander Cultural Awareness Group at Stafford Creek Corrections Center to learn more about what it means to be Asian American and to support people who have been imprisoned. He also enjoys cooking, playing the ukulele, and volleyball. Josiah can be pretty silly at times, so please ask him to tell you a joke!
