Larissa has been teaching since 2005, joining Meridian in 2012 as a third grade teacher. In 2014, she moved into a new role as a Learning Specialist. She loves working with all the grades in both reading and writing small groups. Larissa started her career in New York City teaching second grade before moving to London to work in an international school. While in London, Larissa worked with diverse and international student populations. She is trained in Wired for Reading, Orton-Gillingham, Wilson Reading, and Handwriting Without Tears, and has attended Columbia University Teachers College for Writers Workshop. In addition, Larissa has been trained in Responsive Classroom and has attended numerous courses in differentiated instruction and integrating technology into the classroom. In addition to being a staff member, Larissa is also a Meridian parent!
