Laura Jeanne Ruppert joins the Meridian School community as the Music Specialist. She ignites engagement and deeper learning by designing cross-curricular projects. Before starting her career in education, she sang professionally with the Oregon Symphony, Portland Opera, Portland SummerFest, and San Francisco Symphony Chorus. After earning a second master’s degree in music education with Kodály emphasis from Holy Names University, she began a journey to share her love of music. Laura was certified in Orff-Schulwerk with the San Francisco International Orff Course and has been singing, playing, and dancing with young musicians at San Francisco Girl’s Chorus, Ring Mountain Day School, Town School for Boys, Clarendon Elementary School, and St. Thomas School.

Meridian is an independent school in Seattle's Wallingford neighborhood serving 200 students in grades K-5. We are located in the historic Good Shepherd Center, a community building housing several nonprofit organizations, which lies adjacent to 6.5-acre Meridian Park.
