-K-8 Washington State Teaching Certification – Social Science emphasis
-With The Meridian School since 1982

Meredith Ward has been teaching the fourth, fifth, and sixth grades since 1982. As a native to the Pacific Northwest, she values sharing learning opportunities in this area with her students. Meredith takes students to Astoria, OR, each year as a culminating adventure in the study of the Lewis & Clark Expedition. Students have the opportunity to kayak on the Columbia River in the path of Corps. They also explore other local attractions such as Fort Clatsop, Cape Disappointment, and the Salt Works in Seaside, OR. Reaching out to perform community service has long been a passion of Meredith’s. Service learning is integrated into her classroom during the school year through the study of salmon. Stenciling storm drains in the Wallingford community to keep the Puget Sound clean and working on local habitat restoration projects to provide healthy streams for local salmon are two service learning projects her students participate in during the school year. Meredith and her husband enjoy playing, swimming, camping, and fishing with their six young grandchildren each summer as well as taking their two custom hot rods to car shows.
