Nancy White has been teaching since 2001. During this period, she has worked with students in grades 1–5. Nancy enjoys working with students in small groups to support and extend understanding of both literacy and math concepts. She has attended many workshops focusing on building foundational skills, fluency, and comprehension in reading and writing and has attended three programs at the Teachers College Reading and Writing Institute—two for Readers Workshop and one for content literacy. Nancy has also attended multiple workshops at The Math Learning Center to support her use of the Bridges in Mathematics curriculum. She has completed the training offered for Responsive Classroom and attended workshops on using the Social Thinking curriculum. Nancy has completed her national board certification in middle childhood education which covers children ages 7 to 12. When not in school, Nancy enjoys reading, hiking, baking, and spending time with her family!

Meridian is an independent school in Seattle's Wallingford neighborhood serving 200 students in grades K-5. We are located in the historic Good Shepherd Center, a community building housing several nonprofit organizations, which lies adjacent to 6.5-acre Meridian Park.
