Prior to joining the Meridian community, Sara taught at New Discovery School in Seattle for seven years as a Fours and Fives teacher. In addition to her classroom experience, Sara has spent the last ten years working with children in a multitude of learning environments. She lived in San Francisco while pursuing her Master of Arts degree in Applied Behavior Analysis and worked one-on-one with children on the autism spectrum, in addition to supervising behavior therapists. She has tutored small and large groups of children with a focus on pre-literacy and reading. Sara believes that the key to success in the classroom and in life is rooted in the ability to build meaningful relationships and foster curiosity and creativity while finding joy in learning. When not in the classroom, Sara enjoys spending time with friends and family taking adventures, hiking, perfecting her pie crust and strolls around Green Lake.
