Sarah has been in the teaching field since 2008. Her first teaching position (as a science camp instructor) actually took place in the third grade classrooms at Meridian! After receiving her Masters in Education, she taught math, science, and robotics/STEAM to middle school students. Her love for children’s literature and experience in pre-kindergarten classrooms and K–8 libraries led her to jump headfirst into the role of teacher librarian full time. Along with endorsements in K–8 library media and elementary education, she has middle level science and math endorsements. Sarah is passionate about the Meridian library being a place where each student’s love of reading continues to be ignited, which in turn supports all other areas of life and academics. She believes strongly that the library should provide challenging new viewpoints, nurture empathy for others, and provide tools and critical thinking skills to be lifelong seekers of truth and information to better themselves, their community, and the world.
In her spare time, Sarah loves to cook, travel to new places, laugh and be silly, and read about the latest dinosaur discoveries.
