Sylvia Spicer

Sylvia began teaching in 2005 when she moved to France to teach English as a second language in elementary school. She has been teaching ever since. Though she has a particular love for teaching language in elementary school, Sylvia has taught in many places and contexts, including high school French in Chicago, elementary school English in Mexico, and Spanish in elementary school in Seattle. Before coming to Seattle seven years ago in order to live closer to family, Sylvia lived in Mexico for four years, where she taught English in a bilingual school and studied to teach Spanish as a second language. Originally from Chicago, she still finds the views of the mountains and the smell of saltwater on the breeze here in Seattle a stunning surprise each day. Sylvia loves knitting, reading, screenprinting, and a morning cup of coffee.
