At The Meridian School, our Learning Specialists collaborate with classroom teachers to support the diverse needs of our students. By providing targeted assistance, small-group instruction, and specialized strategies, they help ensure that students are challenged and supported in their academic journey. The goal is to foster growth and confidence across all learners, helping them engage deeply with the curriculum.

Deeper Learning

Our Learning Specialists work closely with teachers to review assessment data and monitor student progress. Together, they create learning environments that are equipped to help students explore subjects more deeply and develop essential skills.

PreK-2nd Grade Learning Specialist:

Supports early learners as they build foundational skills in literacy, numeracy, and problem-solving. This specialist works to enhance classroom instruction by offering additional strategies and interventions that promote confidence and growth.

3rd-5th Grade Learning Specialist:

Assists upper elementary students as they encounter more complex academic material. This specialist focuses on reinforcing critical thinking, organizational strategies, and deeper engagement with the curriculum, preparing students for success as they transition to higher grades.

Supporting Social-Emotional Learning Across the School

Meridian is committed to supporting the whole child, and our full-time School Psychologist plays a crucial role in promoting the social-emotional well-being of all students. Through collaboration with classroom teachers and Learning Specialists, the School Psychologist integrates social-emotional learning (SEL) into daily school life. From class discussions to small-group counseling, students learn valuable skills like emotional regulation, resilience, and empathy.

The School Psychologist also works closely with faculty and families to ensure that the learning environment remains positive, inclusive, and supportive, fostering strong relationships and emotional growth across the school.
